Sand Hollow with a Jeep: maps, campsites and trailer planning
Taking the Jeep, a tow rig and camping gear to Sand Hollow? Choose the campsite with that whole setup in mind. Then plan the Sand Mountain routes separately from the lake and campground part of the weekend.

Which map do you need?
The park map shows facilities around the reservoir. For riding, the official Sand Hollow page also links to Sand Mountain CartoTrack maps. Its Downloads section has separate campground maps, so you can work out where to camp and where to meet before unloading.
Save the maps that match your plans. A campsite location is not a trail recommendation, and a video of a named obstacle is not a full route. Agree on the driving with your group before deciding which equipment you need.

The park lists full-hookup camping at Westside and a mix of standard, partial-hookup and group sites at Sandpit. Primitive camping has a one-vehicle limit on the published fee schedule. Those are different choices for a group arriving with a tow vehicle and Jeep.
Check the exact site dimensions and how the park counts your vehicles and trailer. The fee schedule separates vehicles covered by the site rate from additional vehicles, and limits vary by site type. Use the current schedule for prices rather than a figure from an old trip report.

Call the park at (435) 680-0715 if you need to confirm access between your campsite and the riding area, equipment requirements or a late arrival. Check the official conditions page for weather and current restrictions. Conditions can change between making a reservation and arriving.
Before loading the Jeep, deal with existing leaks, tire damage or a change in the way it drives. Tell us whether you’re driving it south or hauling it, and what work it needs. If you are considering a lift or different gears, bring the current tire size and the size you want so we can discuss the complete setup.
