When does the temperature rise?

Tell us whether it happens at idle, on the highway, while towing or on the trail. Mention warning messages, coolant loss and any recent repairs. A problem that comes and goes still needs attention; those details help us understand what to check.

A leak needs to be traced.

If you have noticed a puddle, tell us where it appeared and how often you have needed coolant. Photos taken safely with the vehicle parked can help describe what you saw. We need to find the source before recommending a repair.

Cooling problems we have helped with.

Elijah Limb’s Google review describes a Jeep overheating concern; Nathan Welker’s describes a Grand Cherokee with a leaking heater core. In his reply to Elijah, Jim discussed the additional cooling fan used on that vehicle. That was one vehicle’s repair; yours needs to be checked on its own.

Do not keep driving an overheating vehicle.

Stop safely and shut the engine off if it is overheating. Do not remove a hot cooling-system cap. Follow the safety instructions in your owner’s manual, and call to discuss the problem before deciding how to bring the vehicle in.

Keep planning.

BEFORE YOUR VISIT

A FEW
ANSWERS.

Do you help with overheating and coolant leaks?

Yes. Call with your vehicle details, when the problem occurs and what has already been checked. We can discuss diagnosis and arranging the repair.

Does overheating mean the engine needs replacing?

The symptom alone does not establish the cause or the extent of damage. Stop driving an overheating vehicle and arrange an inspection before deciding what parts it needs.

How many hours will the repair take?

Finding a leak, repairing it and checking the result depend on the fault and the vehicle. We do not give a blanket repair time before the work is identified. Ask about diagnosis and the estimate when you call.
